This is the first event from Days of Future Pop Culture for lovers of all things pop culture, come down and check them out. There will be comics new and old, retro toys, pops and so much more.
There will be kids activities active all day, with giveaways and competitions.
They will also be raising money and donating money raised by the event to help out the great cause which is Keeley’s Cause.
On Sunday 3 March 2018, ComiXpo 7.0 will showcase some of the greatest science fiction and fantasy pop culture names in comics, movies, television, animation, and gaming. ComiXpo highlights the best in collectables, merchandise, and memorabilia from both industry and the fans. Presenting amazing props, costumes, art, and impressive fan based cosplay, coupled with innovative customer interactions.
EA Games will be present with their Playtesting section and there will be a FREE Cosplay Fashion Parade open to kids, teens, and adults with prizes and certificates given out to the winners.

* For this ComiXpo, there will be a focus on cosplay, so unfortunately we won’t be in attendance as there are no fan club tables at this event and only limited traders tables. We will be back again at the November event, so we will see you there then!
We take a look at The Doctor’s most fearsome foes – The Daleks. Are they killing machines who will not hesitate to exterminate you? Or are they over-sized pepper-pots with weaknesses that can be exploited?
- Building a Dalek – our guest speakers talk about building their own Dalek, their challenges and the fun in having a full-sized Dalek.
- History of the Daleks – two part panel looking at the Daleks throughout the years both on-screen and off-screen.
- Dalek Mania – interactive discussions about people’s favorite Daleks stories/moments, does Davros make the Daleks weaker, paradigm Daleks – why Moffat Why??? and a tough in cheek -hot or not comparison with different Daleks models.
Kids corner will include some Dalek themed activities and our screening room will be showing some of our favourite Dalek stories.
Please note that we have scheduled this meeting a week later than usual, our usual weekend would be on the Labour Day holiday weekend and we have found that many people are away during this time.

Supanova is back in Melbourne for another year.
Come along and drop by the Doctor Who Club of Victoria booth. We will also have Doctor Who goodies on sale including a selection of official merchandise, fezes, bow ties, character frames, prints and paintings from Y. Martin Painting & Design and jewellery and accessories from Out of Place Fandom.
Although no major Doctor Who guests have been announced so far (face it, we were spoilt last year!), Clive Standen has been announced as one of the guests. He played Private Harris in The Sontaran Statagem/The Poison Sky and and UNIT Solider in Turn Left (all in 2008).

For 40 years the DWCV has been there for Whovians of all ages to get together to discuss, debate and celebrate their favourite TV show. There has been many highs and lows over the past 40 years and through it all the club has been there.
So now it’s time to celebrate 40 years of the DWCV.
Cost includes a 3 hour boat cruise and food, drinks available at bar prices.

July is our Annual General Meeting. It’s when we give our members and fans a chance to have their say on the direction of the club, with an open forum and a member survey, and look back on the past 12 months in the club. We’ll also be holding elections for the incoming executive and general committee (must be a financial member to be able to vote, but all are welcome to view proceedings).

If you like, bring along one or more items of your own Doctor Who merchandise, or a Doctor Who item you have made, for our “Show &/or Tell” segment.
Feel free to come along in any Doctor Who themed cosplay, or wear your favourite Doctor Who themed items of clothing!
There will be merchandise for sale. You are also welcome to bring along anything you’d like to sell – you can sell any pop-culture/sci-fi/fantasy merchandise as long as you have some Doctor Who items as well.
This is the only regular Doctor Who meet in regional Victoria, so please come along & show your support if you are a local Doctor Who fan!
Attendance is open to everyone & any age. There is no entry charge. Merchandise will be on sale.
There will be a free raffle, with the major prize donated by ‘Collect Em All’!

September’s meeting is Fan Appreciation Day! We look at the fan side of Doctor Who and some of the things that makes up fandom!
- Guest speaker: Russell Develin – Russell will be showing us his Doctor Who fan films that he has made and will be telling us all about the world of fan films.
- Show and Tell – do you have a treasured Doctor Who item you would like to share with others – it could be something rare and amazing, or something simple that has a special meaning to you or even something you have made. Whatever it is, bring it along to share it’s story (thank you to Bendigo Whovians Society for this idea!).
- Conventions – audience discussion where you can have your say on what you think of conventions and share your experience with meeting some of the guests. We’ll also let you know about some of the smaller, fan-run conventions that take place throughout the year.
- World Wide Fandom – we take a look at some of the other Doctor Who fan clubs and other aspects of Doctor Who fandom around the world.
Also on the day:
- In the screening room, we will be showing the documentary “Doctor Down Under” which includes some members of the DWCV.
- Junior Time Lords featuring a range of activities for the kids..
