Federal MP George Christensen this week put up a petition asking for a Doctor Who episode to be filmed in his native Queensland, to much media fanfare. The actual petition can be found at http://doctorwhodownunder.com.au, and deserves credit for mentioning the terror of the nation, drop bears. But somehow I doubt this bid will trump the one last month from director Peter Jackson of Lord of the Rings fame: “I’m a huge Doctor Who fan. Just name a time and place and I’ll be there.”
